More than one billion people around the world are poor and living on less than $1.25 a day an issue being highlighted on International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.
The theme for the day marked on Monday is “From Poverty to Sustainability: People at the Centre of Inclusive Development”.
Since 1957, a non-governmental organisation called Atd Fourth World Movement has been working around the world to raise awareness about poverty and how to get people out of it.
Its representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Janet Nelson, has been speaking to Yvette Morris. MP3
