Oct 17 is recognized as the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty by the United Nations in 1992 and first declared in 1987 in France as World Day to End Extreme Poverty in front of 100,000 people from across all social-economical backgrounds and representing every continent.
York Region Ontario Canada’s Newmarket event includes speaking opportunities, free hot healthy food, and performers with a bent for poverty related issues.
