Monthly News from the General Delegation

Each month the General Delegation of the International Movement ATD Fourth World seeks to share its analysis, its point of view on what is going on in the world. With thinking coloured by sharing the experience of daily life with the poorest families they invite us to share a new way of looking at things, to find another way of living, of being together… to unite for a world without the misery of poverty.

How to make a link with my commitment and this world in crisis from ATD on Vimeo.

Arrogance in the West, financial crisis, money to support a system in crisis but nothing, or so little, for economic development and agriculture in poor countries… these are the different events we are witnessing and which test our levels of commitment. Eugen Brand, Director General of the International Movement ATD Fourth World shares his deep concern with us. But beyond these questions, facing a world which seems to be forgetting the basic concepts of human rights, there are links between this apparently senseless world and the aspirations we all share for a world at peace and inclusive of everyone. Links with others seeking the same goals. Eugen Brand quotes in particular the Nobel Literature Prizewinner J.M.G, Le Clezio: " World culture is everyone’s business, and definitely of those who have no say ".

Wherever men and women are condemned to live in extreme poverty, human rights are violated.
To come together to ensure that these rights be respected is our solemn duty.
