"How poverty separates parents and children: a challenge to human rights"

In the face of poverty, parents can show unstinting resilience and courage on behalf of their children, making enormous efforts to safeguard relation-ships and keep the family together. This study shows what ATD Fourth World has learnt about the fight against poverty from its grassroots action with families, and from that of other NGOs, in the Philippines, Burkina Faso, Haiti, Guatemala, the United Kingdom and the United States.

On Fourth World Movement (USA) web site, see the new section "Unleashing Hidden Potential"

The Unleashing Hidden Potential Seminar brought together parents, classroom teachers, community workers, university professors of education and sociology, and full-time Fourth World Movement volunteers with the goal of creating a forum to share ideas and to better understand each other’s perspective on education.
