Poverty and family

Family life represents a vital reality for all people living in extreme poverty, whether they can effectively live as a family or not. In order to live and not merely survive, very poor families state three essential requests:

  • they want to have a future for their children;
  • they ask to be able to live in dignity and independently;
  • they want to be able to live harmoniously with those around them.

Who and what does a child need to grow?

During 2008 – 2009, the 14 Fourth World People’s Universities in Europe worked on themes linked to the rights of the child.
